The IDF - Import Declaration Form is opened by the importer to confirm his intention to import goods. The form is submitted to Cotecna along with additional documentation to the Inspection Order (IO).

In different countries the form can have different names, for example: Tanzania, Ghana : Import Declaration Form (IDF). Togo, Niger: Intention d’Importation (I/I), Ecuador: Solicitud de Inspection (SDI). Senegal, Congo, Burkina Faso: Déclaration Préalable d’Importation (DPI), Nigeria: Form M. Bangladesh: Inspection Order (IO), Angola: Pre-shipment Inspection Request (PIP)
